About me!

Let me share a little bit about myself with you as we get to know each other this school year!  I have been teaching Spanish in Bloomfield for 6 years.  I graduated from MSU (Go Green!) with a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish and minors in Math and TESOL. I also received my Masters from MSU…it is safe to say I am a true Spartan! While at MSU, I was able to study abroad in Spain for a semester.  I lived with a Spanish host family in the town of Cáceres, and completely fell in love with the Spanish language, culture and people while there.  While studying abroad, I also met my now husband, Steve!  Steve and I have been married for three years and live in Royal Oak.  We have a pet cat named Pebbles and just last year we had a daughter named Nora!  I enjoy cooking, reading, hiking and remodeling our house.  Travel is a huge passion of mine and since studying abroad I have been traveling ever since.  I have traveled all throughout Central and South America and several countries in Europe.  It is a goal of mine to visit every Spanish-speaking country!  So far, I have been to Spain, Argentina, Uruguay, Peru, Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, Guatemala and Puerto Rico. I love seeing new places, meeting new people, and learning about cultures that are so different from my own.  Some of my favorite travel memories have been the three times I have taken students to Spain!  It is so cool to see them immersed in the language and I love the chance to share my passions with them!  I hope you can come on our next school trip!
